I really like this location as it's consistently good. I'm a wimp, so I always order mild, and it's not too spicy for me. Their chicken pakoras are gluten-free, and their coconut lamb curry is delicious. If you're a rewards member, you can accumulate points for a free drink. If you check in on Yelp, you get 10% off.

Being an Indian all friends and coworkers ask about recommendations I always recommend this place because they don't get it wrong and flavor value and experience. You can never go wrong wrong. You can order anything on the menu.

The chicken vindaloo (hot option) was pretty spicy! I also loved the garlic naan, but I've never been disappointed by garlic naan. From the outside and based on the customizable, almost modular menu, I was expecting this place to be more of a Chipotle style fast-casual place, so I was surprised to learn that the staff brings out food to the table. They were really fast, though. I barely even sat down before I had my veggie samosas in front of me. I couldn't tell if I was supposed to bus my own table or if they would do it for me, so I apologize to the employees if they had to clean up after me!!

This chain is all over Austin and while I would not say it's the best Indian food in town by any means, it's fast, customizable, convenient and still hits the spot. I won't call it fast food, but it's definitely in the more quick service category. Love their naan as it's warm and super soft. Curries are pretty decent, though I've had punchier deeper flavors elsewhere. I tried the lamb korma this time around as a break from saag paneer and chicken tikka masala and it was good. Creamy, nut flavored curry, a little bit of heat and good chunks of tender lamb. The rice is a little broken, but dip naan in and eat and repeat and you'll be good to go.

Needed something spicy since I was sick and this hit the spot as it was hot hot when requested. Naan was also not too thick. Chicken was small pieces and more curry but still spicy for my liking. I asked for 4 naan and service rep was nice to warn me that it might be too much. Indoor dining isn't too great as it's laminate old school but take home was fine as it's more fast casual.

If you're looking for a fancy shmancy dining experience this is not it. If you're looking for fresh, delicious, affordable, quality food...you're at the right spot! The staff is friendly, and the kitchen is fast on preparing the dishes (without compromising quality or making it seem like a rush job). Fantastic spot when you have an Indian craving.

I would give these guys a solid 7.5 out of 10. Really nice and convenient for a sit down "food out fast" joint. Simple counter order while you get a number and take a seat. My food came out HOT which is always appreciated. I got the Vindaloo with a medium heat. I SUUUPER appreciate the ability to choose your heat! I love curry but some places do now have this option and I end up either unimpressed with the heat or sweating uncontrollably... lol. This was a nice middle spot. Loved the added bell peppers and potatoes to make me feel like I'm not just eating chicken & sauce. My only negatives: - It didn't come with a mini naan. I had to order a separate naan as a side, which left me with way more than I needed or wanted. Also more money I wanted to spend. As good as rice is, a mini naan would be perfect for soaking up the sauce. - The Togo boxes are definitely not curry friendly. I had a little leftover that I wanted to save and the paper box was not the best choice for this kind of food. I don't always condone using hard plastics buuuuuuut when it comes to soups and curries it's almost required. But other than that, I will definitely be back for a quick, easy, and delicious lunch!!!

Y'all, I love Tarka's korma, because it's like the creamiest and tastiest curry I've ever had. I love the basmati rice too. However, today I got their Beyond Keema to try it out and it was beyond salty. It definitely tasted like beyond meat, which is not bad, but the saltiness was way too much. It came with sweet yeast rolls. I like their garlic naan and samosas. Overall, Tarka is a good Indian fast food place that's affordable and clean, but it does depend on what you get. I'll be back!

Tasty. Glad I finally got to try it. Is it the best Indian food I've ever had? No but for fast food setting, it was good. The quality was better than typical fast food. The portion size is ok for the price. I liked how I got to use my yelp discount upon checkin and how my friend got free apps with their app and another discount with her yelp checkin. I got the typical chicken masala. I liked the rice with it. It was a bit salty but with the rice it was good. Tasty. Chicken was tender. She enjoyed her lamb korma. She got the highest level of spice crazy girl lol she was sweating but loved it. The samosas were delish. The naan was garlicky. It went well with my masala. Wished it was AYCE naan like many Indian places :) Clean cute place. Convenient off of Anderson. I did keep thinking of Star of India across the street. Its AYCE but that's for another day. I am just glad I tried Tarka finally and I truly enjoyed the lunch. Nothing bad to say about it. Except maybe bigger portions but I was satisfied nonetheless.
